HTB CONGREGATION FILL A CONTAINER TO SEND OUT TO LUYANDO

Charlie Mackesy and Vicky had a great day at Holy Trinity Brompton on Sunday 1st April receiving items for Luyando donated by the HTB Church congregation. We had a 20 ft container outside the front entrance of the Church from 8am to 10.30pm.

We were there for one day to catch the large congregation coming and going from the 5 Sunday services, having told them about the container in the previous week's services. We also had quite a few non HTB members coming from all parts of London, having heard about it from their friends and family.

We received endless bags and suitcases of adults and children's clothing, shoes, trainers, footballs, books, exercise books, pens and crayons etc. The quality of the items were incredible, we received so many brand new items too, including a box full of new children's sports kit. We received at least 600 bags/boxes of items in the container.

People were so enthusiastic at this opportunity to give, especially knowing that these gifts would definitely be going straight to the people who need them most.

We had a Zambian woman from Church, who contacted her network of Zambian friends around London and they too all came down with car loads of items. They were particularly encouraged by what Luyando is doing in Zambia.

All in all it was a fantastic day and we hope to have the opportunity to do it again, I am sure it will be a huge blessing to the community Luyando is helping.
